I think this sounds fun. Do you have kids in the Spelling Bee? It would be neat to see how the adults fair against the kids. Have a great night, Nina.

I think it would be kind of cool to see a spelling bee...those kids can SPELL...(trying to emphasize)...some of those words I have no idea what they are lol :)!

Nina, When I was that age our was my school's spelling champ and went onto the finals that were on television. I was on 3 weeks and can still remember some of the words I spelled on the show.

Doesn't it sound like fun, Debbie! My kids aren't in this. Anyone could form a team of 3 people...friends, family, etc. There will also be 7 teams of 5th graders. I think the kids compete against the kids and the adults against the adults...lucky for the adults!

Hi, Brenda...I loved that movie "Akeelah and the Bee"...did you see that? Those kids really have amazing vocabularies!

Debbie, what a great memory!! I used to love when we had spelling bees in 4th and 5th grade in our classroom.

Now that is cool.  And, ironic, given your email to me.  (I clearly need glasses).  Thank you for having my back.

Nina...I hope they have a lot of success with the Bee!  Canton's educational foundation (CAPE) had its annual Bee in January!

I'm hoping to go, Christine. It sounds like a lot of fun. I admire those brave souls!

Nina, What a great local event!  I'm surprised kids today can spell given that most of them are on computers that spell check.  I used to be an amazing speller ... now I rely too much on spell checkers!

Hi, Kathleen...I know what you mean! Whenever we asked my mother how to spell something she always said, "Look it up". When I tell my kids that they say, "Mo-om!" lol
