What $1 and the Power of the Internet Can Accomplish

What $1 and the Power of the Internet Can Accomplish

Many of you, like me, have probably helped fundraise for various organizations over the years.

For years, I've had an idea that I think would have amazing results! What if everyone just donated at least $1!

Boston Marathon runner, Eli Chernin, is running and raising money again for Technology for Autism Now (TAN). He's 30% towards his $5,000 goal. I think with a $1 donation from people who hear about this through the Power of the Internet he we can accomplish amazing results for TAN!

Check out this short video about TAN. It's extremely moving and gives us a tiny bit of insight into what families with autistic children need for their children. Then please click on Eli's Page and donate to support TAN.

Of course, you can donate more than $1, but let's see what thousands of people making donations and the Power of the Internet can accomplish! If you like this idea, please re-blog and spread the word. I'll post results in April!

 Thank you!

Hi Nina,

Like you, I've done my fair share of fundraising/volunteering over the years.  The concept of donating just $1 is interesting.  People who might otherwise feel that they "have to" donate more than that -- may not contribute at all.  So, you're right ... if lots of people donate $1, a significant amount of money can potentially be raised.

Good Luck to Eli and TAN in their fundraising efforts!

Hi, Carie...I've always thought this would be a powerful fundraising concept especially harnessed with the Internet!

Thank you, Mark. That's a goal I'd love to see us reach!! There are so many causes we could support that way. Even if people only said they have $10 dollars to spend for the year. If everyone gave $10...WOW!

Hi, Nina...I've often wondered about this myself. If everyone, that could, would donate just $1 we could really do a lot. I often donate a lot more to various organizations. Imagine if we all spread it out over many organizations. I do believe if we all do a little, we can do a lot.

Hi, Ginny...thanks! This is an amazing organization and every child and adult deserves the opportunity to be able to learn and communicate to the fullest of their ability.

Hi, Debbie...I think this is another example of the power of the internet. We still have so much more we can accomplish and so many more problems we can solve locally and globally by connecting through the internet!
