Trivia Contest to Celebrate Sharon MA 250th Anniversary
Did you know that the Town of Sharon MA is celebrating its 250th Anniversary in 2015? Take a look at the beautiful logo Nancy Fyler designed (pictured to the right).
There's a whole year's worth of activities planned, to gather the community and recognize our town's special anniversary. The first event was the "First Day" celebration on January 1st. There were bands, magicians, entertainers, hay rides, a bonfire and more right in the center of Post Office Square. It was a cold day but everyone enjoyed the celebration!
One ongoing event is the Trivia Contest which will be running every week throughout the year. You can submit your answer to that week's triva question by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Answers must be submitted by Monday at 6:00 p.m.
Readers with the correct answer will have their names published in the Sharon Advocate the following week. Plus, their names will be put into a prize drawing at the end of the year.
Here's this week's trivia question:
What three Sharon stores were lost in the fire on December 11, 1966?
I grew up in Sharon but that was a bit before my time. All I know is that children were devastated by the loss of the penny candy store!
Do you know the right answer? Get your answer in by Monday, January 26 at 6 p.m.!
Wondering what the answer was to last week's question, "What famous composer vacationed in Sharon in the 1930s?" The answer is: Leonard Bernstein! Congratulations to the 17 readers who were correct!
